Sack Alert! LB95 Kendricks beats LT71 Wiliams for a sack on RG3. Kendricks on the outside attempts to double swipe Williams, but Williams doesn’t bite on it. Kendricks then turns his outside speed rush into a quick bull-rush inside where he pushes Williams enough back to gain leverage for the sack. Some might argue that RG3 should have stepped up into the pocket to avoid the sack, but you can tell from the endzone view that the Eagles defensive line on this play completed beat the Redskins offensive line. Give credit to Kendricks for the good rush on the play.
On the left outside, Garcon is running a stop-and-go route. From the front of the bunch WR12 Roberts is running a seam route, while Jackson runs a quick-out route. Roberts actually has his man beat if RG3 has time to set up for the throw, but Kendricks sacks RG3 too quickly on this play.

RG3 has Roberts in the left slot running a deep-out route. After the snap, RG3 navigates the pocket well scooting around avoiding getting too close to any offensive lineman and then steps up into this throw to give Roberts a chance at the ball in stride. Roberts dives for the ball, but can’t haul it in.
This was a great play by RG3 and a shame it was an incompletion. RG3 navigates the pocket shifting around, and then steps into his throw delivering an accurate strike to Roberts on the deep-out where only Roberts could make a play on the ball. The ball is slightly in front of Roberts, but this is an NFL catch he has to make.

This play is very 2013 Redskins Offense under Kyle Shanahan. RG3 in shotgun runs play-action to pull the linebackers up the field for Garcon to run a crossing route over the middle for the 17 yard gain. Good throw by RG3 to hit Garcon in stride.
Play 12

RG3 throws a WR screen to Garcon who uses his elusiveness to get up the field to the 3 yard line. Great block by RT68 Compton to get the backside defender out of the play. This is one of the three roughing the passer calls the Eagles were penalized for. Good penalty call on the play by the backfield referee.

This is RG3’s second long pass to WR11 Jackson. In this play RG3 looks off the deep safety again to pull him away from his intended target Jackson.

Jackson burns by Fletcher in off-man coverage and catches the ball near the sideline. This throw should have been placed more inside for Jackson. Due to Jackson’s distance from the sideline and the ball placement, he could not do anything with the ball after the catch. Still a very good throw by RG3 and catch made by Jackson, but improvements can only help. RG3 stands tall and delivers accurately from a clean pocket.

Sack Alert! RG3 takes the snap and almost instantly gets sacked by DE91 Cox. Cox from 3-tech bullrushes the inside shoulder of RG66 Chester making his way into the back of the pocket off of the snap. Cox needs to be double-teamed going forward or at the very least chipped by a tight end or runningback in the backfield.
RG3 had WR11 Jackson on a slant route who he was about to throw to, but Cox disrupted the entire play and almost caused a fumble as well.
Play 15

This is RG3’s third long bomb attempt of the evening to Jackson. This time RG3 attempts to look off the safety, but SS29 Allen doesn’t bite and comes away with the interception. What you should notice is that Garcon actually has his man beat on the opposite side of the field. That’s where RG3 should have went with the ball. RG3 should have recognized that SS29 Allen was playing closer to Jackson’s side of the field instead of Garcon’s side. So really Garcon should have gotten the deep look on this play.

Additionally the ball was behind Jackson which is not a good place for it. If you are going to miss you should always miss outside and towards the sideline. Good play by Allen to come away with the interception.
RG3 utlized his feet in a few plays to move the ball down the field like in Plays 16 and 17.

In this play, RG3 decides to scramble through the hole between his LT71 Williams and LG77 Lauvao. I would have liked to see RG3 take a chance and throw the deep out route to the left sideline especially since it was 1st down. Not entirely sure why RG3 hestitated on this play.

The one positive note about this play is that it is clear RG3 continues to avoid getting hit by sliding down to the ground. Very refreshing sign for Redskins fans.

In this play, a blitz by LB95 Kendricks is timed perfectly to get past RG66 Chester through the B-gap that forces RG3 to step up and evade the hit. Once RG3 steps up into the pocket he realizes he has a clean opening up the field for a solid gain on the ground.

RG3 again shows his willingness to slide to the turf even though his momentum took him right into the feet of LB55 Graham.
Overall, RG3 showed pocket presence, poise, and deep ball accuracy that was missed for the first half of the season. Additionally, RG3 showed confidence which was something he seemed to lack going into the Buccaneers or 49ers games. He definitely made mistakes like hesitating or getting caught up with a couple of his reads, but he seemed to be more willing to move on to the next receiver, which is a great development. If RG3 continues to progress like he did in these plays he can easily be the answer for the Redskins at quarterback.
