3. Hands

Use of hands seems like Dupree’s biggest issue. If he gets good hand placement he can win his matchups, but way too often he gets completely corraled once the offensive lineman engage with good technique inside Dupree’s shoulder pads. Here Dupree has trouble disengaging from the right tackle. He needs to use that strength or bull-jerk displayed before to remove himself.

Again Dupree doesn’t disengage soon enough from the offensive lineman due to lack of first punch.

Here are some examples of good blocking sheed with active hands to show that he has potential in this regard if coached up properly.

4. Pursuit

In pursuit, Dupree’s motor is extremely questionable. Sometimes he goes all out chasing down the ballcarrier, but other times he jogs around and doesn’t fully commit to stopping him. In this play, Dupree shows good awareness while playing contain and a bull-jerk move to disengage the blockers with good pursuit to chase ball-carrier when he thinks he has the clear responsibility.

Another good play here where Dupree displays a great motor to make play on the WR screen pass to make the tackle.

And one more play where, Dupree shows great backside pursuit chasing down the running back from the weakside outside linebacker position on this pistol off-tackle lead run.

On the otherside here is a prime example of play where his motor is questionable to me. In this play, Dupree jogs in the backfield as he is pursuing the quarterback. He assumes that he can’t make the play in time, so he just lets the quarterback continue with his reads as he escapes the pocket to the left side finding his wide receiver over the middle of the field for a first down. This absolutely terrible. He needs to chase down the QB at all costs.

Again in this play, Dupree doesn’t fully pursue the ball carrier after getting up from cut block. Jogs after him. Lack of pure hustle.
