Dak Prescott was incredible in preseason debut for Cowboys

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys traveled to Los Angeles to face the Rams in their first home game in over 20 years. Tony Romo did not play allowing Prescott to lead the Cowboys to a 24-7 lead by the end of the first half. In this video breakdown, I looked at Dak Prescott’s first 12 passing attempts in the Cowboys’ first preseason game of the year.

Dak Prescott was incredible. He completed 10 of his 12 passes while the two incompletions were drops by tight end Geoff Swain. Two of his passes went for touchdowns. The first was a backshoulder fade to star receiver Dez Bryant, while the second was a deep pass to Terrance Williams who ran a double move up the sideline.

Drafted out of Mississippi State, Prescott had all the traits teams look for in franchise quarterbacks, the thing that held him back was his performance under duress. In this game, the Cowboys’ offensive line blocked him well only allowing one sack, but they kept the pocket clean outside of that.

While Dak Prescott did perform extremely well, I need to see a larger sample size including snaps under pressure to conclude if he can withstand the pressures of the National Football League.
