Colt McCoy took over as starting Redskins quarterback in the second half of Week 7 versus the Titans in place of Kirk Cousins due to offensive inefficiency and turnovers. McCoy would only give back the starting QB position to RG3 after RG3 was fully healthy in Week 9 versus the Vikings and again when he was placed on IR after injuring his neck in consecutive weeks against the Rams and the Giants in Weeks 14 and 15.
